We all know we need to drink water – especially when it is warm. Travelling can get us out of our normal habits and we might not even drink as much as we normally do. If we also have to buy water bottles it makes it even more inconvenient. Luckily there are many great options to not only get easier access to water when we travel, but also good water. What is good water? What alternatives are there? And how much water do we actually need?

Water – a reflection of your body

The human body is 70% water, so we are basically just cucumbers with anxiety

 – Unknown

If you want to stay healthy and vital on a budget – water is the best and cheapest remedy. Water is brimming with minerals and electrolytes. Water is a solvent. It dissolves other substances and carries nutrients and other material (such as blood cells) around the body, making it possible for every organ to do its job.

A healthy body has just the right amount of fluid inside and outside each cell, – called fluid balance. Maintaining your fluid balance is essential to life. If too little water is inside a cell, it shrivels and dies. If there’s too much water, the cell bursts.

Your body is mostly (50 to 70 percent) water. Babies have the most, being born at about 78%. Exactly how much water depends on how old you are and how much muscle and fat you have. Muscle tissue has more water than fat tissue. Because the average male body has proportionately more muscle than the average female body, it also has more water. For the same reason — more muscle — a young body has more water than an older one.

Many quantum physicists and scholars believe that everything in the outer universe is a reflection of our consciousness and our body. The percentage of water on the planet, for example reflects the same percentage of water in our bodies, etc.

You need water to:

  • Digest food, dissolving nutrients so that they can pass through the intestinal cell walls into your bloodstream, and move food along through your intestinal tract.
  • Carry waste products out of your body.
  • Provide a medium in which biochemical reactions such as metabolism (digesting food, producing energy, and building tissue) occur.
  • Send electrical messages between cells so that your muscles can move, your eyes can see, your brain can think, and so on.
  • Regulate body temperature — cooling your body with moisture (perspiration) that evaporates on your skin.
  • Lubricate your moving parts.

Recommended amount of water is 1,5 – 3 liters per day, even if the recommendtions shifts from time to time. Remember to ask your body if it wants more! Your body knows what it needs and our job is t listen to it!

If you get a headache or feel thirsty, it is often an indication that you need more water. Some drinks such as; sodas, alcohol, coffee and some teas actually dehydrate you, so you should always drink pure water additionally to other drinks.

But, water is not just water. Reality is a bit more complex than that…

What is Good Water?

Good healthy water should be fit to drink, and be free of pathogens and pollutants. Municipal water in most Western cities is treated to make it safe to drink. The treatment, normally chlorine, kills most disease causing bacteria. However, chlorine is a toxic chemical.

In Asia, South America, Africa etc. it is a different story. There you cannot drink water from the tap. And the consequences are larger than just polluted water. It also means we use more plastic bottles, much of which will end up in the ocean.

Each year 12,7 million tons of plastic is dumped in the oceans! That is a nightmare for not only the environment and animals, but also for ourselves.

Drop Plastic bottles and filter your water!

In many countries, you can’t drink the water from the tap. That’s a big problem if you don’t want to drink from bottles.

One easy way to get yourself drinking water is boiling the water that does come from the tap. Note that water has to be on a full boil for at least 10 minutes for it to be safe.

But why not take a water filter with you? They’re often not all that expensive and even better, they’ll earn themselves back in no time! Read more below on which one we use.

If you’re traveling in Asia, you can also download an app called Refill My Bottle. The RefillMyBottle map shows you nearby locations where you can refill your water bottle for free or for a minimum fee. Plus, the stores that offer this service are often very interesting places that you wouldn’t have found otherwise.

How can we get “good water”?

There are regions of the earth where water is thought to be responsible for the longevity of people in those regions. For instance, the Hunza Valley in northern Pakistan and the waters of Lourdes in France etc., are famous for their vitality and longevity. You can read more about Lourdes and the healing powers of the water here. What is it about those waters that make a difference? They all have essential bio-available minerals in solution. They are not absolutely pure. However, they are all free of disease causing bacteria, so they are safe to drink.

What is structured Water?

Water can be seen as a source of life. As a primary element that is connected to everything. There isn’t anything on Earth that doesn’t use water as a part of its process in creating life. Therefore, as water is the connector to all living things it’s important to return water to its original form by allowing it to restructure.

Structuring happens automatically by the natural action of water tumbling over rocks, down waterfalls, flowing through twists and turns as it actively descends a mountain. Water molecules are free to move and “dance with nature” in an energetically alive, fresh and vibrant manner. Through this process, the molecular structure of water is changed to reflect less surface tension, neutralized toxins, cleared memory and balance on a particle level.

Water inside our body’s cells is also structured water. The water preferred by human cells is structured into small clusters containing 5 to 20 molecules.

In tap water this attraction makes water cluster together in larger assemblies of water. They will cluster in groups of 5 molecules to over 600 molecules that are not static. Water molecules will switch from one group to another very easily and are being made and broken several times a nanosecond.

It is the size and shape of these clusters of molecules in their never ceasing interaction that is the “structure” that creates the dynamic energy environment of water.

Creating Structured Water

Water Memory

Research by Dr. Benveniste indicates that the shape or resonance (frequency) of the water molecule alone carries biological information. It shows properly processed (structured) water alone makes measurable changes in a cell’s function. This ability of the shape of water clusters to impart information became known as the “memory” of water. Dr. Benveniste’s research also suggests that small amounts of contaminants could have detrimental biological effects.

We may have been damaging our environment and ourselves much more than we could have possibly imagined. If water can retain the memory of the pollutants and that memory can survive reverse osmosis, distillation, carbon filtration and chlorine treatment, what information are we giving our body’s cells? And what effects do the information have on our bodies? This is why it is important to structure the water we drink and use.

How do we structure water then? We can structure our water simply through stirring in the glass with a spoon (preferably of silver). Or buy a natural action technology unit.

Water Vibrations

To take water to even deeper levels, in 1994, Dr. Emoto developed a process in which he would freeze drops of water and take photographs of individual water crystals. He found that like snowflakes, every water crystal is unique. Dr. Emoto also found that you could tell much about the nature of the water by photographing it in this way, and more importantly, that, as human beings, we can change the nature of water in many ways.

One of the first things that Dr. Emoto learned was that all water does not form beautiful crystals. He tested tap water from around the world and found that tap water does not form water crystals. Stagnant or polluted water does not form water crystals either, but forms unbalanced, deformed frozen structures. Structured water such as; rainwater, water from clean streams and rivers, water from glaciers, and water from holy places around the world form beautiful crystals when frozen.

Dr. Emoto found that if he played beautiful music in the presence of tap water, it would then make beautiful frozen crystal formations. He also learned that the written word changed the water. Dr. Emoto taped paper strips on bottles of tap water and then photographed the frozen water. He found that words such as “Thank you,” and “I love you,” caused the tap water to form beautiful crystals. Words such as “You make me sick,” or “You are a fool,” caused ugly, distorted crystals or no crystals at all. Dr. Emoto then found that we can cause tap water to form beautiful frozen water crystals simply by praying for the water, by sending it loving thoughts, and by blessing it. I would say, it is time to take the whole water business to the next level…

“When you focus on experiencing the fluid within your own bodies, your own water makeup, you will see and begin to learn that you can change your form. Water is magic. The energy of water is your teacher, because you are water. When you turn to water to learn, you are honoring the water form that carries your light body. Water cannot be controlled or polarized. Pay attention. Your water holds part of the secret of unlocking your DNA. When you enter water or drink water, do so as if you are the water and the water is you.”

Water filters – why and how?

Unfortunately today most water is not of high quality. It has lots of chemicals, fluorides and negative information coming from pipes and everyone ever in contact with it.

Even if we cannot always structure the water when we travel, at least we can filter it. There are many options out there.

At home we use Berkey filters which is the best filter out there in our opinion. You can even take brown river water and get it clear and clean. But, Berkeys water bottle filter does not say anything about removing chlorines and fluorides.

So, when we travel in RV, camping car etc. we always bring our beautiful and amazing Travel size Berkey with us. But for our more “back packer trip” like the one to South East Asia, we have found brilliant water filter bottles.

Which water filter bottle do we use?

Water-To-Go™ filters 99,9% of all microbiological contaminants in water, plus chemicals such as chlorine and fluoride. It is also BPA free, which bottled water is renowned to be full off.

It saves us from buying plastic water bottles the whole time, so there is less plastic garbage and it is gets less expensive too.

We just fill them up with tap water, rivers or from the waterfalls or wherever we find water that is not salty. No one sick so far….

Now we only buy bottled water if we are doing shakes or coffee or something where the water bottles would take too much time to get the water out. And we use the refillmybottle app to find places to refill them instead of buying new ones the whole time.

If you buy plastic bottles with water, make sure to keep it out of the sun as a lot of chemicals from the plastic get released into water when it gets warm.

There are studies from Sweden showing that water we (expensively) buy in plastic bottles has as much bacteria, contaminants and such, as the toilet water at the Central Station in Stockholm…

Coconut Water

There are other natural waters. Coconut water is the biggest source of electrolytes (positively charged minerals) in the world and will begin to electrically charge and cleanse the body simultaneously as it matches the plasma of the blood (55% of the blood). Even a glass daily can make wonders for our health. Travelling in SEA and other warm countries, a coconut a day makes your body sing.

In Costa Rica the Ticos often drink coconut water if they get problem with their stomachs. So if you get sick on your travels – drink only pure water from your water filter bottle and coconut water until you are feeling better… Maybe add some Himalaya salt and lemon too to stay balanced.

Although, coconut water should be in addition to pure water, since only pure water can rehydrate you fully.

Magic of water

Conclusion

Water is life itself!

If there are two things we recommend to stay healthy and hydrated these are our top recommendations!

  • Structure your water and drinks to optimize your health by stirring it!
  • To get away from drinking from plastic bottles while travelling – use Water-To-Go™

So drink away your clean and pure water while travelling!
